USDC or USDT frozen by the issuer

Your wallet holds USDC or USDT, but every transfer fails, even with gas in the wallet. The token's issuer may have frozen your address. That is a different problem from missing gas, and it needs a different fix.

Check a wallet Stuck without gas instead?

What a freeze is

Circle, which issues USDC, and Tether, which issues USDT, can block single addresses in their token contracts. Other issuers, such as Paxos for USDG, can do the same. A blocked address can no longer send the token, and with some tokens, such as USDC, it cannot receive it either. The balance stays visible, but nothing moves.

Issuers usually freeze addresses because of a court order, a sanctions list or a request from law enforcement, for example after a hack or a scam.

Why gas does not help

Missing gas means the network fee cannot be paid. A freeze means the token contract itself refuses the transfer. Adding ETH, TRX or SOL does not change that, and no relay or gasless service can move frozen tokens, gasrescue included. Anyone who promises to unfreeze tokens for a fee is very likely a scam.

How to tell which it is

The wallet check reads the issuer's block list for every supported token and marks a frozen token as "Frozen". A token that is only missing gas shows as "Stuck". The check is free, read-only and needs no wallet connection.

What you can do

Common questions

Can gasrescue send frozen tokens?

No. gasrescue checks for a freeze before it quotes and refuses, so you are not charged for a transfer that cannot work. Other tokens in the same wallet that are not frozen can still be sent.

Can a frozen address receive tokens?

It depends on the token: USDC blocks receiving as well, USDT on Tron only blocks sending. Either way gasrescue refuses a quote whose recipient is frozen, because the money could not move on from there.

Are all my tokens affected?

Only the token of the issuer that froze the address. USDT can be frozen while USDC in the same wallet moves normally, and the other way round.
