Send USDC or USDT on Solana without SOL
Your USDC or USDT arrived on Solana, but the wallet holds no SOL, so it says you have insufficient funds for the fee. You can still send it, without buying SOL first.
Why your wallet refuses
Every Solana transaction pays a small network fee in SOL. The token you send cannot pay it. If the recipient has no account for that token yet, the transaction also needs a one-time deposit of about 0.002 SOL. With 0 SOL, neither is possible, and it happens often after a withdrawal to a fresh wallet.
Your options
- Withdraw a little SOL from an exchange to that wallet. A small amount covers many transfers, so this is the cheapest route if you can do it.
- Ask someone to send you a little SOL.
- Use gasrescue when you need the money moved now and have no way to get SOL.
How to send it with gasrescue
- Open gasrescue and connect Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. Solana is already selected, and the token list shows what you hold.
- Enter the amount, or press Max to send everything, and the recipient. The quote lists the network fee, the service fee and what the recipient gets.
- Sign once in your wallet. We send the transaction and pay the gas.
- You get a link to the transaction in the block explorer.
What it costs
The service fee is 0.5% of the amount, at least $0.25 and at most $2.00. Both fees are deducted from the amount you send, and the quote shows the exact figures before you sign. If the recipient has no account for the token yet, the one-time deposit of about 0.002 SOL is added at cost, without a buffer. The quote shows it.
What you sign
You sign one Solana transaction, and we pay its network fee. Your wallet lists the transfers in it: the amount for the recipient and the fee for gasrescue. Both run in that one transaction, so either both succeed or neither does.
Need SOL instead?
You can also swap a few dollars of your stablecoins into SOL without holding any. It lands in your own wallet, so you can pay your own gas from then on. How a swap without gas works.
Common questions
Does this work with USDT too?
Yes. Choose USDT in the app. Both tokens work the same way.
Can the transfer be changed after I sign?
No. A changed transaction would no longer match your signature, so nobody can alter it, including us.
Can I use my phone?
Yes. Open gasrescue.io in the browser inside your wallet app. The app has a button that does this for you.
Before you start
Transfers are final, so check the recipient address carefully. Only sign on gasrescue.io. gasrescue is in early access and independent of every chain and wallet named here, so please start with a small amount.
