Swap USDC or USDT for gas without gas
You hold stablecoins but no ETH, SOL or HYPE, and your wallet can't pay for a swap. You can still get the gas coin, from your existing wallet and without buying it anywhere else first.
Why a normal swap fails
A swap is a transaction like any other, so it costs a network fee in the gas coin of the chain. With no gas coin, every swap on a normal exchange site fails, even if you only want to buy that gas coin.
How to swap with gasrescue
- Open the app and choose "Swap without gas".
- Connect your wallet: Phantom, Solflare or Backpack for Solana, MetaMask, Rabby or Phantom for EVM chains.
- Pick the chain. The token list shows what your wallet holds.
- Choose what you want to get and enter the amount. The quote lists the network fee, the service fee, what you get about and the minimum.
- Sign once in your wallet. We send the transaction and pay the gas. The result lands in your wallet.
Where it works
- Solana: USDC or USDT into SOL or the other stablecoin
- Base: USDC into ETH
- Arbitrum: USDC or USDT0 into ETH or the other stablecoin
- Ethereum: USDC into ETH
- HyperEVM: USDC or USDT0 into HYPE
- Robinhood Chain: USDG into ETH
Swaps are not available on Tron. Other tokens can't be sold this way on EVM chains, because they first need an approval that costs gas.
What it costs
The service fee is 0.5% of the amount, at least $0.25 and at most $5.00. Both fees are deducted from the amount you swap, and the quote shows the exact figures before you sign. On Solana a one-time account deposit can be added at cost; when you buy SOL it comes back to you as SOL. The pool or route charges its own small fee, which is already in the amount the quote says you get. On Ethereum the network fee moves with gas and is higher.
What you sign
On EVM chains you sign one typed message, not a transaction, so you need no gas for it. Your wallet shows the amount and our swap contract. The token you get, the fee and the minimum are bound into a hash, so check those in the quote on gasrescue.io. On Solana you sign one transaction that your wallet lists. In both cases everything runs in one transaction: if the swap would bring less than the minimum, it fails and nothing moves.
Common questions
Do I need a new wallet?
No. The swap runs from the wallet your stablecoins are already in, and the result goes back to that wallet.
How much should I swap to have gas?
A few dollars are enough for many transactions on Solana, Base, Arbitrum, HyperEVM and Robinhood Chain. The minimum is $2, but the fees are a big share of very small amounts, so the quote shows the total as a percentage.
Can the price change after I sign?
Only within the minimum shown in the quote. Below it the swap fails and nothing moves. A swap quote is valid for 2 minutes.
Before you start
