Send USDT or USDC on BNB Chain without BNB

Your USDT or USDC arrived on BNB Chain (BSC), often after a withdrawal from an exchange, but the wallet holds no BNB, so it cannot pay the gas. You can send it without buying BNB first.

Send on BNB Chain How fees work

Why your wallet refuses

BNB Chain charges gas in BNB, and it has to be BNB on BNB Smart Chain itself. A transfer there costs a fraction of a cent, but with exactly 0 BNB the wallet cannot pay even that. Unlike USDC on Base or Arbitrum, USDT and USDC on BNB Chain cannot be moved with a signed message either, so a wallet with 0 BNB cannot send them at all.

Your options

How to send it with gasrescue

  1. Open gasrescue and connect a wallet such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Rabby. BNB Chain is already selected, and the token list shows what you hold.
  2. Enter the amount, or press Max to send everything, and the recipient. The quote lists the network fee, the service fee and what the recipient gets.
  3. Press "Sign in wallet". We send your wallet a little BNB, just enough for two transfers.
  4. Confirm two transfers in your wallet: first the fee, then the amount for the recipient. Your wallet sends them, and we check both on chain.

What it costs

You send100 USDT
Service fee− 0.50 USDT
Network feeabout 2 cents

The service fee is 0.5% of the amount, at least $0.25 and at most $2.00. Both fees are deducted from the amount you send, and the quote shows the exact figures before you sign. The network fee pays for the BNB we send your wallet. Whatever is left of it after the two transfers stays in your wallet.

What you sign

There is no gasrescue contract on BNB Chain, because USDT and USDC there cannot be moved with a signed message. Instead we first send your wallet a little BNB. Then your wallet asks you to confirm two ordinary transfers from your own address: the fee to the gasrescue fee wallet and the rest to the recipient. It shows both in full and sends them itself; we never get access to your wallet. They are two separate transactions, so please confirm both right away.

Common questions

Which tokens work?

USDT and USDC (the BEP20 versions), USD1 and FDUSD.

Why must the tokens be in my wallet for 24 hours?

The BNB we send is a gift until you pay the fee, so it must not be collectable by moving the same coins from wallet to wallet. Tokens that arrived in the last 24 hours can be sent once they have been there for a day. The quote tells you how much can be sent right now.

What happens to the BNB that is left?

It stays in your wallet. We send only enough for the two transfers, so it is a fraction of a cent.

Is BSC the same as BNB Chain?

Yes. BNB Smart Chain, BSC and BEP20 mean the same network. opBNB and the old BNB Beacon Chain are different networks.

Which wallets work?

Browser wallets that can send transactions on BNB Chain, such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Rabby. Smart contract wallets do not work.

Can I swap USDT into BNB here?

No. Swaps are not available on BNB Chain. gasrescue can send your USDT to a wallet or exchange where you can swap it.

Before you start

Transfers are final, so check the recipient address carefully. Only sign on gasrescue.io. gasrescue is in early access and independent of every chain and wallet named here, so please start with a small amount.
